Strength to Stand Conference
January 18–20, 2025
First Students exists to move our students from 6-12th grade, toward spiritual maturity and growth in their relationship with Jesus Christ through pursuing God, connecting with the church, and engaging the world. We believe that our youth have a strategic impact to make on our community. Take some time to explore the ministry opportunities that First Manchester has for students.
6:00 PM in the Gym
Each Wednesday night our students gather in the gym for a time of worship led by the student band, an inspiring and challenging message from the Bible, and age based small groups to apply what they’ve learned.
8:30 & 9:45 AM
Students gather each Sunday morning to connect and enjoy fellowship before breaking into small group Bible study. Each group is both grade and gender specific and led by an adult. The Middle School (Grades 6th thru 8th) meets on the 3rd floor of the A and B Building and the High School (Grades 9th thru 12th) meets in the gym.
Sunday Night Discipleship offers a variety of learning formats and a variety of studies ranging from apologetics, to sharing your faith, to the attributes of God, to new members training, to purity and so on. Our discipleship program exists to challenge students to grow deeper in their faith and trust in their Savior. We begin together in the gym with a meal before breaking into the various classes.
Throughout the year, we set aside time to hang out; sometimes for a few hours, sometimes for a few days. We come together for fun game nights, movie nights, or laser tag. We do a fall retreat and winter retreat each year. This provides a great opportunity for students to grow closer to God and each other.
Making a difference is essential to the DNA of First Baptist Manchester and that’s true of our Student Ministry as well. Along with regular serving opportunities throughout the year our students have an opportunity to serve on mission projects around the country and internationally.
Each summer we take students to two different camps. We have a middle school camp for exiting 6th-8th graders and a high school camp for 9th-12th graders. These weeks are designed to help students grow in their knowledge of God’s Word, to build friendships with others, and to learn to live on mission together.
